Our 1st round flags (cup) game involved the road trip to Penarth. With this being the school half-term, some of the team had family commitments so we travelled with a depleted squad of 12 including coach Pete Compton playing long-stick.

The theme of the game followed our usual trend this year – problems finding the back of the net. Although we scored 10, it should of been many more as the Penarth goalie was inexperienced so it should be been just a case of getting it between the uprights. But alas this did not happen was often as we needed.

At the back we leaked some easy goals and as the game progressed, we tied and the younger and faster Penarth midfield started to take control.
